Has No Borders™ Inc. (FHNB) was created to provide a forum offering
international exposure and promotion especially for designers whom are
interested in finding opportunities in the international fashion market.
The international apparel retail business has grown to $172 billion per
year. The employment rate for designers is expected to outpace that of all
other occupations through the year 2008.
The opportunities for designers and apparel industry workers have never
been better. Imagine getting paid to dress people and make them feel good?
Your designers work with the most talented and creative people in the
industry. Your name is franchised internationally; you can find it on
billboards all over subway stations. This level of success awaits
Caribbean design and apparel professionals.
In the fashion business, natural talent will only take you so far. Being
business savvy will get you ahead of the rest. Fashion is 90% business and
10% talent. You can have a book full of the most original, creative,
unique designs but if you don't know how to market and sell your garments
you are going nowhere fast. Truth be told, a buyer could care less about
how great your designs are. Ultimately, buyers would rather know how good
your design products are at selling in retail, whether you have any kind
of brand awareness, what other stores you are selling in, and who wears
your clothing (particularly celebrities).
Other business concerns include the globalizing nature of the world
economy. As trade barriers continue to disappear around the world, global
competition forces companies to explore new ways of doing business and
improve the way they market themselves and their products.

Every year, FHB chooses child-focused organizations to support. This year,
the organizations are SickKids Foundation in Toronto and Watoto Leadership
Development Projects for orphans and abandoned children in Uganda.
SickKids aims to meet the following goals:
SickKids Foundation is the largest non-governmental granting agency in
child health in Canada. Established in 1972, SickKids Foundation has
granted over $500 million to The Hospital for Sick Children and over $60
million to researchers across the country. Our mission is to inspire our
communities to invest in health and scientific advances to improve the
lives of children and their families in Canada and around the world.
We have invested our community's contributions in world-leading children's
health research and care. We believe there is no one else in Canada as
dedicated as we are to eliminating the gap between what is happening in
child health research, education and training, and what should be
happening.
